Nova Solay Corset Belt
This gender-neutral belt corset is made from Kantarines weave and sunburst-colored binakol, ethically sourced from our partner weavers in Paoay, Ilocos. Each piece is skillfully constructed by our Manila Team, honoring both craftsmanship and culture.
In mid-2024, I lost my father. It was the darkest time of my life—grieving while caring for my daughters felt like an impossible weight to carry. As I slowly emerged from that darkness, a dear friend, a radiant queen, asked me to create a ceremonial piece for their wedding. It took time to find my way back to my work table, but I did. That moment of creation, of pouring love into something meaningful, reminded me of that grief is also love and it shines in all dimensions.
Inspired by my friend’s drag name, Nova Solay, this belt corset is a tribute to light, transformation, and the power of embracing grief. Like the sun breaking through after the storm, it symbolizes energy, hope, and creative rebirth.
