Sakada Cargo Trousers
Our Sakada Cargo Trousers, is a tribute to my Great Grandfather Manuel and the countless Sakadas who worked the plantations of Honoka’a, Hawaii in the 1930s. Manuel is from Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, home to weaving traditions that continue to thrive today. Inspired by my journey of rediscovering my lineage and the serendipitous opportunity to be welcomed by the Kingdoms and Islands of Hawaii, these trousers honor the farmer's deep connection with the land, their spiritual practices, and gratitude rituals tied to the environment.
Thoughtfully designed and ethically crafted, these trousers are available in two styles:
Cinnamon Brown Linen
Features cinammon brown ethically sourced linen with yellow Binakol Kusikus weaving on the pockets and lining.
A thick hem detail, evoking the rugged functionality of farmer workwear.
Bracing Blue Soft Denim
Accented with gray and black Binakol Kusikus weaving for a sleek, versatile look.
Each pair is made using materials sourced sustainably, with textiles handwoven by partner weavers from Paoay, Ilocos Norte, ensuring every piece is a work of art and a testament to tradition.
